About the event
Applicable for parents who have
- Adopted or fostered children/teens
- Newborns
- Autistic children/teens
- Children reuniting after foster care
- Teens reuniting after residential treatment
- Children recovering from domestic violence and other trauma
- Challenging parenting partner relationshipsÂ
This class will include the following bonding subtopics:
- Tolerating a child’s big emotions
- Being available for a child’s feelings
- Holding boundaries while providing emotional support for a child
- Dealing with a child’s anger, sadness, fears, and hurts
- Dealing with our own frightening thoughts about the past and future that get in the way of bonding
- Doing all of the above for ourselves and our parenting partners
